Governor Chris Christie admitted that he is still the same person even after undergoing weight-loss surgery, the same person who’s not into healthy things.
In an issue coming out Friday, People’s magazine features the story about New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s life as a governor, a husband and a father.
In the five-page interview at their home in Mendham, along with his wife Mary Pat, Christie shared how he managed to win over his weight-loss battle, as well as how he never forgets his job as a father despite his obligations to his state. About his thoughts about what changed in him after undergoing that surgery, he revealed that even if it’s changed his eating habits it definitely did not change his dislike for vegetables.
Christie never really liked eating vegetables but you can make him eat lettuce, cucumbers and green beans. He’s also a person that can live without needing caffeine fix. Even in his younger days he never really liked coffee or Coke.
Making it a national media topic was the last thing that Christie wants when the news about his lap-band surgery in February came out, he never really planned to keep on talking about it in public. But after realizing how his story can help others win that same battle against weight problem, he decided that maybe it’s time to talk about it.
“Look at me, I’ve defeated it. Why can’t you?” was his words every time he’s asked about it as he now urge other people to stop feeling sorry about themselves and starts doing something about it.
Mary Pat proudly shared that her husband is a disciplinarian when the situation calls for it – and also when she needs him to be when it comes to their children. She even told People magazine that she just lets his husband handle it if she wants faster results with their children.
As a father, Christie is just like any loving father who sees to it that he never misses any of his son’s games, someone who would never hesitate running after his scared daughter and calmly talk her to stand up and go out and sing on stage, and a disciplinarian that can make his son’s tantrums disappear after a man to man talk.
